Elevation & static head

Node elevations set the static-head component of pressure. Rises and falls along the network convert between pressure and elevation head.

Total head combines elevation and pressure head; the solver carries elevation into every node balance so a riser costs static head and a drop recovers it. For a dense fluid the static term scales with the mixture specific gravity.
